For Holding the mouth.I had been desperately waiting for my brother to come home so that i could upload some pictures to this entry that were a first for me during this chinese new year. Why? Because for the first time in my life, i became somebody's uncle. The name i dunno: i was busy playing with the young prince (which incidentally is what i will just call him from now on) whose smile creases up an instant the moment you hold any food in your hand. Your true to hold genetically trotty-greedy similarity to his uncle, me. (Of course i dont smile nowadays. i twitch with conviction) It had always been a notion to me that i only became an uncle so old in coming, but hell, im actually the oldest grandson behind my brother and one cousin for the maternal side of my family tree. Anyway, i finally realised why chinese new years has always somewhat been a sombre affair for my family. My environment is so well disciplined that no gambling of any sort (even with candies) has ever taken place in fear of the vice that its always seem to be attached with. Believe it or not, not a single family member of my entire family tree (inclusive of both sides) smokes or has a gambling problem. Except probably my third aunt who smiles unknowingly whenever one speaks of 4D and worked into a frenzy during this one time when the assuming God Of Wealth outside the streets were throwing out 'gold dust' (symbolising prosperity and fortune) and she took out this huge plastic bad to contain whatever she could catch. It was hilarious. Well it was at least much more respectful of the others who inverted their umbrellas to catch the gold dust. God how dumb was that.Watched 'Fearless' from Jet Li in recent? Many people seemed to think that the mad beggar in the movie was really unnecessary and not worth mentioning, but from a literary aspect, i had learned so much from the movie. At the time when the character Jet Li played was so haughty and obnoxious, he responded with glee whenever the beggar cheered him on with the constant one liner that he was the No.1 fighter in the country. But to me, he was just actually a representation of the morals and soul of 'Yuan Shi Kai' at that point of time, which was superficial, ugly and even poor in aspects, hence the portrayal of the dirty, haggard beggar. Probably that was why Jet seemed so despondent when he met the beggar upon his return many years later. Although the beggar was still giving the same praise that he lived for in the past, he had finally realised that he had been doing nothing but living in vain in the past. How many times have us probably been in the same situations as the ones we see in movies. But even I do not know if i would change for the better if deluded with fame and wealth. I wonder if history should serve as a recollection or lesson for all.
